Several weeks ago, Mikayla won the Lil' Texan award for her specials. That means that the music, art and P.E. teachers all chose Mikayla to win this award. Here's what the principal, Mrs. Nerby, said about Mikayla: "Mikayla always comes to specials ready to do her best. She sets a good example for her classmates, loves to help out in the music room by holding the door, passing out and collecting instruments and demonstrating new dances and games. Mikayla, the specials team loves your positive attitude! Keep up the good work!"
Two weeks ago, Mikayla had the opportunity to sing in the school choir at the PTA meeting at her elementary school. She looked beautiful, and she knew all the words.
Last night, I was playing with Mikayla and Macey before bedtime. Macey likes to tell me to sit up on the floor, then she will run in the opposite direction, turn around, then run right at me. Sometimes, I will pick her up above my head, but others, I will let her "knock me over," as she falls on top of me. I pretended that I fell asleep. Macey told me, "Wake up, Mommy!" then she proceeded to give me mouth-to-mouth resucitation! It was the cutest thing, and I have absolutely no idea where she got that.
A chronicle of our lives. One day, maybe a book...

So Proud
Mikayla's after school care program is called "Champions," and they give the kids fake money each day if they stay on green the entire time. The first time, Mikayla bought a stick-on moustache, and was quite proud to show it off.
On Friday, Mikayla used all of her "Champions Bucks" that she had been saving for two weeks to buy Macey a Dora bathtub toy. It completely touched my heart that Mikayla would do that for her sister, just because she knew Macey would love it. When Mikayla handed Macey the toy, Macey's face lit up! She yelled out, "Dora!" Mikayla was so happy that Macey was happy, and I was happy that my daughter chose to bless someone else instead of selfishly buying herself something.
