Several weeks ago, Mikayla won the Lil' Texan award for her specials. That means that the music, art and P.E. teachers all chose Mikayla to win this award. Here's what the principal, Mrs. Nerby, said about Mikayla: "Mikayla always comes to specials ready to do her best. She sets a good example for her classmates, loves to help out in the music room by holding the door, passing out and collecting instruments and demonstrating new dances and games. Mikayla, the specials team loves your positive attitude! Keep up the good work!"
Two weeks ago, Mikayla had the opportunity to sing in the school choir at the PTA meeting at her elementary school. She looked beautiful, and she knew all the words.
Last night, I was playing with Mikayla and Macey before bedtime. Macey likes to tell me to sit up on the floor, then she will run in the opposite direction, turn around, then run right at me. Sometimes, I will pick her up above my head, but others, I will let her "knock me over," as she falls on top of me. I pretended that I fell asleep. Macey told me, "Wake up, Mommy!" then she proceeded to give me mouth-to-mouth resucitation! It was the cutest thing, and I have absolutely no idea where she got that.
